I’d like to describe myself as someone easy to cooperate with, hard working (sometimes to where it backfires) and friendly.

I like when things are happening and I’m not scared of taking the initiative to drive things forward, which is why I think I’ve ended up as some sort of pseudo meeting leader during our group meetings.

I found a love for game-development back in 2015 and I’ve been studying it since, going to LBS, then Malmö University and lastly here at TGA where I’ve felt most comfortable. During Malmö University I realised that I would probably want to specialize in Game AI, either for tools or for actual gameplay.

Studying at TGA was a major boost for me, I learnt a ton in a short time span and it really confirmed my passion for game development.

I decided, with some guidance from my teacher, to create a PCG system for dungeon generation as my center portfolio piece. I’ll be losely basing this tool around the dungeon generation used in The Elder Scrolls : Daggerfall.

Now, Daggerfall does not generate their dungeons in runtime, but use premade dungeons, these dungeons (excluding the main story related ones) are made using a tile based algorithm, generating tiles and making sure pathways connect between the different rooms in a smooth way.

My portfolio piece uses a similar style, where the end goal is that the user will be able to save the dungeon layout as simple positions, rotations and tile type. This would allow the user to create a dungeon layout in Unity and then simply load in premade room tiles at the set positions and you would have a working dungeon.

Hi again! As I said on the homepage, my name is Jesper Andersson and I’m currently studying as a game programmer at The Game Assembly, Malmö. I’ve written this page for you (yes, You!) to more easily get a feeling for how I am as a person.

Outside of coding I’m a massive animal lover and spend a lot of time tending to my two sons;

This is Turbo, my Greek tortoise. His favourite passtimes are making my life miserable, eating watermelon and mountain climbing.

This is my leopard gecko; owner of many titles: Devourer of crickets, Butcher of Blaviken, Chief window-licker, Pope and executive sleepwatcher Zapp, blessed be his name.
